Corporate Brokers International Pte Ltd (CBI) is a subsidiary of Winmark Investments Pte Ltd. CBI was established in Dec 1997 to invest in SMEs with high growth potential and a great desire to become regional and global players. It has a vast network of financial, management and investment professionals to help such SMEs with strategic, operational and financial matters and to prepare and execute practical yet ambitious business plans. Help is also offered by way of Good Corporate Practices, Productivity Exercises, Better Financial Management, Mediation, Negotiation and Deal Structuring. Projects undertaken include investor search, facilitating senior sales contacts, refining business strategies, establishing appropriate capital structures and performance tracking/reporting system, assisting in senior staff recruitment, reviewing operational efficiencies, developing & implementing M&A strategies and evaluating competitive issues. Winmark invests in selected investees for which CBI presents itself as both a broker and a long-term partner.
Responsibilities
Investee Search: Identifying, Evaluating and Securing engagements, refining business models and business strategies to be attractive to investors.
Fund Raising: Establishing appropriate capital requirements, structuring appropriate terms, sourcing of appropriate resources, ensuring appropriate documentation, organizing quality presentations to investors, negotiating, mediating and closing subscriptions.
Operations: Coordinating corporate EXCO and Board meetings, Identifying Corporate Needs and Resources needed, helping to structure deals to achieve effective outcomes, designing reporting and performance tracking systems, assisting in senior staff recruitment, helping to review and compensate personnel plus augment procedures and controls for operational efficiency
M&A: Developing and implementing M&A strategies and evaluating competitive issues.
Qualifications
Tenacious graduates with Science, Accountancy, Engineering or Law Degrees. Candidates with 1-2 years’ working experience in corporate banking and commercial banking are preferred. Past examples of being organised, a good coordinator and mediator yet able to work independently with sufficient depth in a wide range of interests will be necessary. Achievements to date must reflect ability and perseverance to identify, work and solve problems in a team. Must also demonstrate a high degree of initiative and passion to develop thinking, communications and writing skills.
Business savvy individuals who by nature enjoy analysing business problems and have the ability and perseverance to identify and work with the right people until the problems are solved.
Individuals who by nature have a wide breadth of business interests such as sales, marketing and distribution, product design and development, pricing and packaging, business modelling and strategies, funding requirements and deal structuring, mergers and acquisitions, organisation and management, risks and controls, industry and globalisation trends and opportunities.
